Anyone know of any places that will do the title replacement thing for a 50cc? I am wanting to do some work on mine, but would need to have it registered for the mods I want to do. I do not have the title, as it was lost by the first owner (NC does not require 50cc to be registered). I am hoping to find a way...
Also, as far as I know, it has never been registered.
Is this possible, or would I be better off just selling and buying a new one?

I found a way to do it but at $250 it does not seem cost effective on a scooter. I say sell it and buy a new one.
That's always a fun option anyway!

Get yourself an other bike. One with tile next time. There is a lot of paperwork, processes and headache involved. It takes more than money to hire a title search company.

The way I understood our DMV, THEY do a search to make sure not stolen, under 50cc,etc., then you can get it registered here.. Here anyway, when the scoots are sold new, you DONT get a title, some companys would give you a "certificate of origin" only. I only know of 1 around here that even does. When you get it registered, THEN you get a title to send off.... :stumped: What mods require a title anyway??..... To extreme, then it becomes a"custom". then it's a brand new title in the end.

For itto be going 35+ in this county, it needs to be registered. So... a bbk, performance exhaust, etc would land me a ticket. Too little crime here, and cops get bored

Now that's odd..... Cause if it goes OVER 35, then you have to have "motorcycle endorsements", tag,insur... Technically..... even if it's listed as a 50cc.. Must be listed as a 49 or 49.5 to be free of anything...I havent had any issues with my zx or the guilty and BOTH go well over 35....

I am working on the motorcycle endorsement. I plan to be getting a 250 next year some time for long distances, so i'll need that. I just have plans for later on that would mean registration is required
