Any one know of an iPhone app that will let me navigate exclusively on 2 lane roads. The generic "avoid highways" options that most maps have is a joke.
I'm planing a ride from Springfield to New Orleans in May and would like to avoid divided highways.

I was expecting some app involving James Taylor and a '55 Chevy. lol Sorry, I know squat about any modern cell phones. Still using an old Razr.
Good luck though. I was looking for a route from here to Ocean City, MD completely avoiding highways on Google Maps, Google Earth, Mapquest, Yahoo Maps, etc... Whenever I choose avoid highways, they all still put me right on the major highway (US Rt 50) just about the whole way. I bought a GPS to get accurate speeds and hoping it would work more efficiently recently. Much to my dismay, it does exactly the same thing.

Annoying isn't it! It's like they think "Highway" is the same thing as "Interstate" because that is all it seems to avoid. I do realize that some 2 lanes are actually called "Highway" so in reality the "avoid Highway" option does not even make sense. It should say "avoid divided highway ." Or better yet it could have an "avoid boring 'slab' "option. Even the bicycle or walking option puts you right on divided highway.

Mine only avoids Motorways when you select avoid highways. It'll still send you down roads with more than one lane each way.
