I have a 50cc peace sports scooter. Kid I bought it from beat the hell out of it and left it outside for awhile . I bought it for 20$ with title and all so I know it wasn't stolen so it was a good deal for me . Right off the bat I bought a new battery, new carb , cleaned the gas tank , and got a new ignition because the kid lost the keys to it . It's getting spark , fuel , and it has compression , but for some damn reason I just can't get it to start. Finally me and my buddy decided since I got it So cheap let's have some fun with it , I plan on swapping a 110cc motor into it . Was wondering if anyone on her has done something similar with a peace sports . Seems every forum I read through everyone is talking about Honda ruckus' . I want to make this moped look nice and perform even nicer . Just looking for ideas, tips, trick, and strategies to lower it , extend it , swap motors . This is the motor I just ordered to swap in .http://www.motopartsmax.com/index.php/main_page/product_info/products_id/28569

I don't recall seeing anyone swap a pitbike engine into a CVT scoot. I'm sure it's been done though. There has been a Chinese scoot or two made with that style of engine, but they're really uncommon. I want to say Wildfire made one, but I'm not certain. I know they make a moped style, but I think they made one that looks like a "sunny" style (Peace Sports, TaoTao ATM50) scoot at one point. It will be more difficult than the typical swap. The stock engine should have a built in CVT and gearbox that the rear wheel attaches to. You'll need to do a lot of fabrication work to add new motor mounts, come up with a swing arm, covert to chain drive, and work out the shifter. Extending it shouldn't be an issue since you'll be custom fabbing your own swingarm. Just make it longer. I had a midbike with a 110cc and a 114cc kit made a big difference in output. They're actually 107-108cc IIRC, so 6-7cc shouldn't do that much. I never checked things so thoroughly back then, but I'd have to imagine the compression increase made the difference. If you end up wanting more out of the engine, I'd suggest seeing where compression is and then checking clearances to see how you can improve it if needed.

Sounds like a fun project and I'd love to see someone do it and document it. I'm sure you'd have a lot of people watching Welcome to the forum

With a 110cc expect speeds that are above 50mph on a flat if properly tuned. My stock taotao 49.6cc(should be) will do 45 on a flat with enough room. With thay amount of engine, i would suggest a cone style air filter and larger jets. Though a standard 18mm carb should work, i would think about upping it to a 20-21mm carb and making sure the ports match up.
