Hello, I ran into the problem my scooters crankshaft gave up on me cause i had put lots of milage with 72cc, tho the problem is i got a donor engine from a friend for cheap, the donor engine has the 16 tooth oil pump gear drive, meanwhile my scooter (Vento Arrow) has the 22 toothed oil gear drive, is it possible to change the oil pump assemby so it can work? or its maybe not advisable?..
quick help please, i really need my scooter to get to and from work
with best regards

The 2 oil pumps are different from each other. The 33 tooth will actually have 1 dowel pin and have the shaft attached to it, and the case would have a spot for that dowel. The 47 tooth pump will not have this dowel pin and will not have a shaft built into it. I had this trouble before. I bought the 44mm crank from scrappy and i had the 47tooth and i needed the 33tooth. Well everything fit on, well as i thought it did. And when i took it for a drive it didnt seem right so i emptied the oil and saw the tan plastic and knew exactly what it was. It got chewed up and i had to change the case because the 47 tooth case would not let the 33 tooth pump fit because there was no dowel pin hole

Also, out of curiosity, might you know why they changed to higher toothed gearing on the oil pump? with best regards

I changed the oil pump due to the fact i wasnt paying attention on the teeth of the new crank and the teeth for the pump. When the new crank was in i put the 47tooth oil pump on and it slid in first try so it didnt click to me that it was different. Went for a ride, didnt seem right, emptied the oil and tan plastic pieces were in there. I knew exactly what it was and when i opened it up the gear was bald. So i had to change the case to get the 33tooth oil pump to fit right because it would not fit correctly on the 47tooth case

Try this website www.partsforscooters.com/All-Scooter-Parts/Crankshafts-and-parts they seem to have a great variety
