Sorry to hear that. I've got inner ear issues and have vertigo sometimes that lasts for a week or more. have an idea how you feel. Like you want to get off that carnival ride. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry I missed this until today. I hope you will fully recover soon and that your wife doesn't nix your riding. Still no idea what happened? Run wide? Slick spot? Hope you're back in the saddle soon.

Thanks man. I'll be fine.
My wife has been a trooper about it. Encouraging me to share the story and learn the lesson of the experience. But then she has had to watch me take my cameral and run off to all the hot spots of the world so this is probably cake for her. I once called her on a sat phone to tell her i had changed trip plans and was now in Afghanistan while bombs fell on a town about 50 miles away. She was not happy with THAT little surprise phone call...

Close look at the bike today with Tim my trusted mechanic and the prognosis is that the insurance will probably total it. It is well fixable but i would end up having a lot invested in a bike with a "salvage title".
No definite from Progressive yet but that is the way it looks. Very sad how that is handled.
Still with recovering health, 2 scoots and the 2 KZ 650 still in the garage i can't say i'm anything but blessed!

Sold to Progressive.
Well i loved that bike for almost a whole week... Didn't quite make it to 200 miles but she's gone now. Once we got to talking broken shaft drive there was no hope for a buy back and repair.
In related ironic news the Dragon sold today as well!!!
I had it up for sale since i was not riding it enough. But had not been advertising it. It was just siting at my dealer incase he got a great offer. So today after i signed the Honda over i thought i would run out and take it off the "market". Signed on to the Twisty Riders board and found out that one of my friends had just bought it!!
Hard to feel bad about that since i know he will love it as much as i did. And i'll get to see it on our sunday ride.
The circle of scoots!
Sooo you would think all of this would have me down. NOPE. I'm fine with it all except the last straw that hit me today: Laying in the emergency room in neck and leg braces the nurse told me she was going to have to cut my t-shirt off. I made a joke about it being my favorite shirt but really had no clue at that point what i had on. Today i went into my closet to grab my 49cc "hit the pipe" t-shirt and it was gone! Yup - in shreds on the emergency room floor. NOW I'M PISSED!!!!

Well, at least you still have a healthy stable so you'll have to decide what you wanna ride first when you're 100% again. Cutting up a 49ccScoot shirt... that's like burning a flag or something.

My balance seems much better and my right arm strength is back to about 80% so after a few hours of bike shopping today i took the KZ out for about 30 min. Gonna take some time to get comfortable again for sure.
But it was great to feel the wind and hear that 4 cylinder scream again.
Tomorrow, club ride, WooHoo!

Update - Thank god for insurance!
I got my statement of the medical charges. Could have bought a new TMAX for what ended up being an Ibuprofen prescription!
Still i'm glad they took all the precautions and quickly too. And mostly glad i'm blessed to have good insurance.
Progressive took good care of me on the bike as well. They really do seem very "biker friendly".

Thanks for the update. I've looked at hospital bills for family members and seen what they charge for each Tylenol and stuff like that. It is ridiculous.
Feelin' pretty much OK now?

I geting there. Have to sleep mostly siting up because if i roll over on to my shoulder it makes me cry like a little girl. When i sneeze my collarbone feels like it is breaking. I'm not having a fun allergy season. I could be doing better but i went off of the pills early. Don't need their side effects. All in all i'm feeling very grateful.
I think my boss, family and friends have been more stressed about it all than me.
