Well, sorry about your moped dying on you, but I stick to my suggestion, which is 2 stroke. If you're concern is not being squashed because you can't keep up with the flow of traffic, then a 2 stroke is what will work. Of course I'm severely biased because I like fast toys.

Spaz is also the Spokesperson for the 2-Stroke Guild Of America, as well as a lifetime member, ha ha. (Just kidding)
But seriously, I am afraid he is correct. If I could afford one, I would own one myself.

For speed, i'd say go for a 2 stroke engined scooter. They'll drink a bit more than the 4 stroke ones. Personally I'd say to go for a japanese or european scooter, but on this I'm biased because mine is italian xD Mine hits 50mph, sometimes a bit more, close to 55 but starting to go downhill. I don't like to keep pushing the engine too hard, so i only hit these speeds for a short period, and return to my 40/45 mph cruise. The best choice would be a scooter with 125cc engine, if you want to manage high speeds for a long period.

My 90cc 2 stroke only goes a bit over 40, I just look a lot better getting there than the rest of you wankers.

Silly question. If you have a 50cc Scooter and that's legal to ride without the motorcycle license, and then you upgrade it to where it starts going to like 72cc and the speed increases, do you have to then get a motorcycle license or do people just say "But Officer, this is a 50cc scooter. It can only run 30mph"? How do you do that? Do that work around.

On your moped documents its typed 50cc, so officers shouldnt do anything about it, because they dont actually know you are having bigger cylinder. But this information is overall, and it could be different on specific countries or states. I have heard stuff, that on some countries, police officers have devices that can check what, cylinder you are rocking.

Get a good used 150 and obtain your m/c endorsement license. Or try to find a good used two stroke 50 like pre 2005. If we knew your location we might be able to help you choose one off of Craigslist, etc. nearby you.
