Last time it was an intake leak causing this, have you checked for leaks since installing the new head?

Same here. Fresh gaskets, perfectly clean mating surfaces; still had leaks. Three bond and a few hours of curing took care of it.

Luckily for sctrdawg, the GY6 intake is not nearly as tough to seal as our minarellis. My main reasoning is that he posted a thread with a very similar symptom. Turned out to be and intake leak. Replaced the head, which of course means swapping the intake leak. Here's the problem again. Just makes sense to me to try that before anything else.

intake not leaking. it is as if something is holding it back, and as it revs toward the top of the range ,it pops backk ,gurgles, makes a BRAAP kind of sound, and if i hold it wide open while riding it eventually dies! could it be rings? it does smoke a little but it does have about 15,000 miles on it!

Mine used to do that when it was either too rich or too lean. Try upping the jetting again. If it gets worse, try going down from 82.

how bout you guys were right!! after careful inspection there was a piece of rubber gasket stuck to the bottom of my intake, that coupled with the fact that i did not port the used head i bought, and also too big of a jet,had my intake slightly leaking and too much fuel not to mention fuel and air hitting the wall of my small port< bingo holding it back poping back and gurgling sound fixed !!! ported the head, went smaller on the main jet, leaned it back out and back in business!!!
