I installed a 50mm bbk. I have lots of torque. 0 to 40 fast about 5 to 7 sec. I was wondering how to get more speed. I was thinking of going to a 12 in tire. Has anyone done this or dont it work? The scooter rpm is wright in the power ban so i dont want to mess with the weights. What are my other ops?

You might be able to fit a larger tire, but unless the stock tire is pretty small you probably won't see a whole lot of gain there. I know you don't wanna mess with the CVT tuning, but that's gonna be the cheapest way to more speed. You can do it with more power too most likely, but that's more work and more expensive. Swapping out rollers for sliders can help you gain some speed. I modded the vari on my 4T build to squeeze the last few MPH out of it, but that takes a lot of playing with weights after it's done and if you go too far with certain mods you can ruin parts. I detailed anything I did in my SunL build thread. It's one long thread, so here's a little bit abotu some vari mods... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=builds&action=display&thread=20&page=44

Sweet. Those weren't out there (to my knowledge) when I was messing around with the 4T.

Getting ready to order the new gears. Witch ones should I get? 18/50 or 17/51? What are the stock gears?

I had just posted this in another thread ;D ... 2.78:1 enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/10358339/stage-6-primary-gear-18-50-gy6-139qmb3:1 enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/10358337/stage-6-primary-gear-17-51-gy6-50-139qmbStock secondary gears are usually 52/15 (3.47:1). With the first set your final drive ratio would be about 9.65:1 and with the second it would be about 10.4:1. I think the stock primary gears are usually 16/52 (3.25:1) to put the stock ratio around 11.3:1. Just for some idea of the effects, I made a little table for ya. Remember, engine RPM doesn't actually work here, because of the CVT. You'd really need to know the RPM of the rear pulley for this to be accurate. Tire size will also affect MPH. This is done just using a 100/90/10 for reference. Again though, this might give some insight into the effects. FD Ratio | 5,000RPM | 7,500RPM | 10,000RPM | 11.3:1 | 22.62MPH | 33.93MPH | 45.24MPH | 10.4:1 | 24.58MPH | 36.87MPH | 49.16MPH | 9.65:1 | 26.49MPH | 39.73MPH | 52.98MPH |
I'm heavy, but I would stay with the lesser upgear (3:1). These engines just don't have tons of power to pull very long gears from my experience, but then again I was 300lbs or slightly over when I was messing with my 80cc GY6.
