First let me say that I own two Chinese scoots. Striped/Galled threads are 
common on these things. Second let me also say that for a living I do industrial maintenance, so thread repair yeah been there done that. I have found that most people that have bad luck using helicoils or any other thread repair do not install them properly. Now on to the product itself. I purchased this kit with not too high of expectations. My decision was based on the fact that there were 5 sizes and I needed three of them. that being said the whole kit cost about the same as two individual sizes. The first thing I noticed after receiving this kit was the metal box in which it comes. It is sturdy (like the old time tool boxes). Now on to the actual kit tools, they are of the same quality as many of the kits I have used over the years and I would say the same quality as the Helicoil name brand. In short IMO if you scoot you need this. Price/Quality can't be beat.
