anyone else use these tv boxes that run android? I got this one that is a quad core 2GHz running android 5.1. I mainly use it for facebook/youtube but it has the KODI app so you can stream shows from that as well.

I've just got a Chromecast and a smart tv. I pretty much only use them to watch YouTube stuff or occasionally Netflix whenever they decide to give out free trial memberships.

Hmm interesting Lanternscoot. I had no idea something like that existed. I've been looking for a solution so that I can watch stuff from the Showbox App which only runs on our phones on Android. I tried using a couple different Android emulators on our PC and laptop but neither will install and run for some reason. I'd like to be able to put some of the new kids shows up on the TV for my girls but it's not a smart TV (it is a flatscreen that can be used as a computer monitor however). I have also considered getting a Chromecast but I don't know if it'll cast an app to the TV. From what I understand it'll only cast what's being shown in the Chrome browser?
I know this isn't scoot stuff but if y'all know of a good way to accomplish watching an Android app on my non smart TV I'm all ears!

I have chromecast, Apple TV and Amazon Fire stick with Kodi. They are my only sources of tv. I get local channels with my internet service so I can activate all cable channel apps on the devices. Kodi has anything you could ever want but streams suck at times. I can get current movies in theaters. Most have foreign subtitles. I actually prefer the Apple TV and chromecast for ease of use.

I have not even owned a TV in over 5 years or watched one in about 10. total waste of time. IF there is anything I think I need to see, I just use my computer. I watch movies, youtube, etc, all on my computer. Yes it is a desktop with a large flat monitor.

I am with Bill on this.
I do own a Vizio 24" TV. I bought it to replace a CRT TV 7 years ago. It has been on just long enough to watch a DVD once and set up the channels for broadcast TV. Other than that it has been off and disconnected. I watch everything on my two desktop computers, DVD's, Netflix, YouTube, A-Prime, etc. I only have a cheap Google internet connection. Broadcast TV and most cable is a complete waste of time.

I've still got a nice small flat screen model with built in dvd. Think it hasn't been powered on in about 5 years. And yes I do the pc thing too.
