I found my gas tank, Swedish military surplus, 1.3 gallon, it will sit on the back of the scooter on top of a rack that will extend down the sides to hold ammo cans as saddle bags ")

Just kidding. I think that will be great. I had ammo can saddle bags on my motorized bicycle I built about 7 years ago. It looked cool and functioned well. Bill

That one has a 50cc 2T on there (Don't tell Spaz, ha ha) and it really flew...too fast for a bike, especially a bike made in China. For the money though, it really was a great looking machine. I think I had like $300 in it...something like that. Bill

I saw an ad for an electric motor for a bicycle that would do over 65mph. The output of the engine hooked to the small crank in front, and drove the bike with the chain on the big sprocket to the wheel. That is insane!

And the winning color is... Rustoleum "Army Green" from their camo paint series. Not mil spec, but close enough, and readily available...

Got the frame painted That looks really good. I can't wait to see it when completed. If I stripped my scoot down that far, I would never be able to get it back together, ha ha. Bill

I still had doubts on the color choice until I got the first coat on the frame, I had a can of khaki ready to go just in case. Once I saw the frame, I wanted more so I ended up painting the valve cover, engine shroud and rear mud guard, as soon as I find the inner fender, I'll nail that too.

The bore kit will be here tomorrow so I can get the engine reassembled and reinstalled in the frame, at which point I can get the rolling chassis back together and ready for all the over winter detail work.

This is more or less my main inspiration for the overall look, just not so busy. But one element I want to use is the snorkel, I figured I'd find a suitable piece of PVC drain plumbing, use a rubber collar to attach to carb and a hose clamp to fix one of those "performance" air cleans with the plastic covers, all painted OD of course. I've seen extended intakes for 150cc but not 50cc, what are the problems doing something like this if any?

As long as the tubing is large enough that it doesn't become a restriction, you should be able to use a snorkel.
