So I stopped by the local scooter guru today, he has approximately 25 mopeds and scooters of various flavors, not to mention a couple of nice bikes, and he's closed up shop officially and I wanted to see if he had a frame and front end I could salvage since my triple tree is slightly bent and I don't seem to be having much luck finding a replacement. As it turns out he had a running chinese scooter with the plastic all busted up, but a good frame and fork. So in a couple of weeks when he digs it out, I get a titled running scooter I can ride home.

So what we have is a 2008 "Bronc", supposed to run, trust the seller enough to believe it will, engine turns over with the kick and feels like good compression, I took great delight in ripping all the plastic crap off it as soon as I got it off the trailer. The driveline is significantly quieter than my other scooter for sure, nice and smooth. No key, but clean title. Let the adventure begin...

Push to start! Only if your not driving it. XD. Jk. Any auto parts store sells new ignition switches with keys.

Or I can just order a complete set, ignition, seat lock, gas cap etc for $20 off Amazon ")
This could be kind of fun, a lot less generic scooter, I'm even finding chassis parts and such, and it has refillable front shocks ")

So basically it's a version of the Jonway YY50QT-6, with steel wheels instead of aluminum. Pulled the plug, it's black but not fouled or heavily deposited. The front brake hose is missing, it's also got the so called ABS pressure relief system, not sure if I'll replace the hose and keep the existing hardware or just buy the pre-filled, pre-bled kit and replace the whole thing. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

Won't pull the head until I install the BBK. I'm going with the same setup as the other scoot, 47mm/72cc and 20mm carb with a 90. I like it, and when I throw in the upgraded variator and clutch, I'm sure I'll like it more.

I'll definitely be replacing all this I notice that you have the same special tool that I have. Mine has a black handle instead of blue but, it seems to work on any type of engine as well as the occasional TV and washing machine, ha ha. Bill

It's reversible, one end for brute force, the other more gentle, cushioned persuasion...

Down to the frame, haven't we been here before? All the welds are good, the frame and triple tree are straight and just some minor surface rust. Don't think I'll go to the expense of having it blasted, the weather's nice, I have power tools...

Got all the extra mounting points etc cut off and smoothed, frame sanded, 2 coats of heavy primer applied, wheels sanded and primed as well.
