I am the proud owner of a 50cc Propel, that I am frankly having a ball with. Now I have seen that for motorcycles and snowmobiles there are things that you can buy to warm food on the muffler, for example something called the Muffpot. Now the muffler on my scooter is too angled and probably too small to accommodate a Muffpot, so I have been thinking about what I could do instead to take advantage of this small generator of waste heat. This morning I stopped at a gas station to fuel up and when I went inside I decided to pick up a Little Debbie Cherry Pie. You know the one, it comes in a little box. Getting back to my scooter, I remembered I had a couple of very small cloth-covered bungee cords with. Put the box on the muffler, slung one of the bungee cords around the two, and down the road I went. Half an hour later I stopped at a little park, grabbed my coffee cup enjoyed my pie (which was nice and warm, I might add). Not bad considering the box is a poor thermal conductor and there was no insulation. Thinking that's if I ripped apart an old pair of jeans, I could have my wife sew up something sort of like a blood pressure cuff, a length of blue jean material with Velcro running up the sides. I could wrap it around whatever I wanted to heat up and my muffler. Certainly would never cook anything, but I think it would do for warming up a wrapped burrito, wrapped hot dogs (sans bun) and the like.

I like taking one my Chinese scooters to get Chinese food, besides the irony, the food stays warm under the seat.

Nice...manifold cooking. The guys on CarTalk did an entire show on this. (Not with scoots though) With a little work, you could probably get it to make hot coffee...I am serious. No sense wasting the heat energy you have already paid for. Moving into fall/winter, this could be a bit more important. Bill

What?! O.o I just use my muffler to warm my hands in the morning, since i never ride it long enough to get burning hot xD my seat won't receive enough heat either, even in the day I did around 75 miles with her in an adventure

I have a muffpot. The hose clamps that come with it are pretty big. They would probably work well on a flat sided OEM 4T muffler. Bodywork clearance would be an issue..
