A longer shock would work also. It would cost more, but some of the adjustable stuff out there is much nicer than stock. Just seems like it would be worth paying extra to not need the adapter and be able to adjust the ride. I think I paid 70 for one and 50 for another. Get an idea of the overall length you want and then search ebay for that length in mm... like say, "275mm shock" or whatever you want.

Get an eye to eye (from centers, uncompressed) measurement of your current shock. Come up with a range. If you search for generic terms like "scooter shock" and look around a bit, sometimes you can find used stuff in great shape really cheap. I got a "lowering" shock, just a shock from a different scoot that met my requirements, for $30 new some time ago. I know when I was on eBay looking for my last adjustable shock not long ago there were quite a few used scooter shocks going real cheap.

the thing you are going to run into if you go with a long shock and a 60mm or even a 40mm spacer is you wont be able to use the center stand and you will end up with other clearance issues what kind of scoot if its a zuma or bws about 40mm is all you can add without issues
