Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the clutch. I got it home and on its stand, the motor is free and the rear wheel spins when I push on the kick start. It's a good thing I have that Dr Pulley clutch. Might need a new bell though? When it cools off a little I'll go pull it apart to find out what all the damage there is. My chariot

Oh man that sucks! Hope the damage is not serious. Was it the Polini 2G?

Yeah. It's got a lot of miles on it though. Wasn't a brand new clutch, but it's served me well for many years.

Made it out of that one alive! Let's pray it's just the clutch. How fast were you going when it locked up? Best guess... clutch got to hot. Checked the weather. 95*.

Well, it locked itself to the bell I think, so it wasn't scary like if the motor and rear wheel locked up. I came up to the light after my run, blipped the throttle and felt the clutch do something weird. As soon as I stopped it killed the motor. I got video of it and will post it later. I have no idea what my top speed was, but when I sat back up and looked at the speedo it was already showing 66 mph. I either didn't go very fast, or the speed bleeds off pretty damn fast.

Well, it's official; with these gears it'll only do 75. It held it for a bit so that's what I'll go with. Kinda bummed, but I suppose it's not too shabby.

Wondering how the inside of the CVT looks like. Even with the STR8 vented cover the clutch broke?

It didn't make a big mess. Gonna order some pizza, eat and then I'll go pull the cover and the clutch. But it's definitely the clutch. Thank God.

Huffing and puffing over pushing, better lay off the burritos.
Good thing it's just the clutch.

At least it's an easy fix. Such is the way of tuning, it breaks, then you can rebuild it stronger than ever. Shame as it was running good.

Kinda bummed, but I suppose it's not too shabby. 75mph is hauling ass on a scooter, and takes a shit load of time, and tuning to get there. And it's also the fastest 70cc class scooter on the speed list.

Are you just running the HiT clutch and bell? Maybe it's just a broken spring and it locked in. Hurry up and fix it.
