I was thinking of adding those led bar lights to my scoot. Where would I connect them to? I have a connector on my harness that is jumped (it came from the factory that way, I've seen it used for alarms.) Can I tap into that?

As long as your scoot is already wired for led or DC. You should be able to tap into any live wire. But if your bike is AC. And your led bar is DC than you'll either need a bridge rectifier converting DC to AC or run the led straight too your battery with a toggle switch in between.

Is this light bar being used in lieu of your headlight ? I know most are listed for off-road use.

I'm talking about those led strips that some people put under their scooters...mostly for show

I make a lot of led lights using Joule Thief circuits which are AC. As you said, you can use a rectifier if you want to make into dc. Bill

For accent lighting, I'd just wire it to a switch and battery power. One side to the switch. Switch to batt +. Other side to batt - or a good frame ground.

Bill LED's are happy with AC or DC as they are Diodes as long as they don't get Overvolted with my Hyosung I used two 15W LED modules on my Headlights and they run great off of AC they flicker at idle but they are nice and bright.

If you wanna make it look professional you can buy the proper ends for it and crimp it all together for easy connect/disconnect. Test with a volt meter to confirm it is a 12v source. There are 2 types of led sold. 12v and 5v. 5v are used mainly on computers, 12v can be used for PC or automotive/motorcycle use.
