Check out what beating the hell out of the Spree on the dyno did to my piston. This is what happens when you run lean and shoot it up to 10,000 rpm. I suspected this was gonna be the case when we pulled it, and I was right. I blame a shitty carb/intake system which is fixed now with the Polini I got for it.

Is that the boost port side of the piston or exhaust port side ?

Not sure right off hand, and I can't go look and see either. I have it packed and taped up ready to ship to another guy who is gonna play around with it, and the old carb on his setup.

I'm thinking the damage more then likely happened on Test run 5. If you forward to the 30 second mark in the video, you will hear the back wheel lock up momentarily. We've done a total so far of about 16 dyno runs, most of them recorded. So even after 11 more runs after the sieze, it actually still seemed to be running just fine. I was getting a bit paranoid about test 5 after reviewing it. I put an endoscope down into it and took a look and at the time, it didn't look too bad, but then after still being paranoid about it and knowing fully well we had been brutalizing the BBK, I HAD TO have that piston pulled to have a look, and yep.. my suspicions were correct.
