well i got my throttle cable back from motion pro and the leo vince sp3 exhaust also arrived. i could not find the gasket for the 19mm dellorto clone for the slide. maybe there never was one or motion pro lost it, or i did, what ever i ordered a new gasket.. i put the exhaust on using the old gasket just to fit things up..everything seem to line up but a mount for the hugger needed to made up. i fit the carb on with a pod type filter and what the hay why not see if it runs. i cranked it a few time and got a pop then remembered to set the manual choke. it started ok, but had an exhaust leak.. since the clone carb had a unnumbered pilot and main i put in a 35 pilot and 85 main with the needle set in the center slot..now given one missing, and one leaking gasket it seems to idle ok and transfer to the needle fine but from 0 to 2 1/2 turns out on the af jet had no effect, so i think i need a smaller pilot? any way i need to remove the the exhaust, paint the bracket i made for the hugger, then reinstall with the new gasket. then fix the carb gasket, reroute the throttle cable and shorten the intatke track i made for the filter. miles to go but getting there.

Prob needs a smaller pilot jet. If there's no effect or if you are just having trouble figuring it out, rich will usually gurgle or sputter and the idle will often drop overtime when it loads up on fuel. Lean tends to want to idle higher and has a sort of hollow sound.

32:1 - 40:1 unless you have some specialty synthetic designed for leaner ratios.

Right on.What would make one after running for about ten min at 35/45mph die.But it will crank right up and run fine. It's only done it 2 times

Could be heating up and soft seizing. That's very common with a lean mix and every time it happens it scars the piston and cylinder more. A lot of times it's a little sluggish after it fires back up till it cools more, but not always. I'd try a larger jet and see if that helps.
