I'm sure it's a simple fix but I start my engine on my 49cc 139qmb and it revs and revs. Adjusting the idle doesn't help.
I just replaced my bbk with the stock cylinder, it ran slow but I just thought I was used to the kit. I replaced the bendix yesterday and I thought something was misadjusted in the belt/clutch/variator department. I took off the cover again, loosened the belt by squeezing the clutch and tightened the variator nut again just in case I didn't have it tight. I replaced the cover, gave her a kick and it nearly flew off the center stand. I adjusted the idle screw to no avail. Is it my clutch? Thanks

Well der. I just noticed the spark plug cable was stuck under the carb pushing the throttle up. There's my unexplained reving. Administrators: feel free to delete this post due to op's (me) stupidity

Stupidity would of been changing the air in the tires to try to fix the problem. You made a simple mistake and figured it out.
