Could you give us a close up of how you got it cut to hold the starter? Been thinking of doing the same thing. Great looking scoot by the way

I basically used a drill to perforate the spare CVT cover I had. I then used a hammer to knock the chunk out, and took it to a grinding wheel to finish the edge. I made sure to use the two bolts to keep the piece in place so the Bendix is secure.

Are you not worried about losing some of the structural integrity of the swing arm without having the support of the cover on there? I have heard reports of, but not seen, cases breaking because of this. Obviously, you have not had that problem but, should this be a concern?
Thanks,
Bill

I've heard of it too, but like you said, never seen it. I've asked around, and not many people have seen 139QMB's crack like the bigger 150 GY6's when using an ankle-biter setup. So, I decided to try it. My last QMB was a short case and I only used three bolts to keep the cover on (for faster removal when tuning). After I swapped to the long case that I'm currently running, I cut that piece out, bolted it up and haven't had ANY issues yet. I've been looking for signs of cracking, and nothing. I ride my scoot hard: wheelies, small jumps, etc. I curb hop when applicable too, haha! I don't know, seeing as how EASY the case metal came apart, I don't think it's really all that strong. Happy riding!

I am surprised that the drive face does not have a score board painted on it.
