So today I had the day off. Started thinking about painting some things and well, I did. Forks and front wheel are going to black from silver. And since I run my CVT open, I painted the clutch Bell and variator face green. Rustoleum 2x for a little over $3 a can at Home Depot, only bought two. Paint is drying now, I hope I can get a scoot in before Hurricane Matthew visits!

This paint actually dries pretty fast! 2 coats on everything so far and I just did the other side of the wheel. I'm sure I'll have it back together in a couple hours and I'll post pics!

Is that high temp. paint? If not, it might burn off especially from that clutch bell which gets quite warm...looks really good though.

It's not high temp, and I actually grabbed the bell when it was still wet, and messed it all up. The forks and wheel came out real nice, I just gotta re do the bell.

It would be cool if we could buy these parts in various colors that are anodized. Maybe someone sells these but I have not seen them. I am assuming that your cvt cover is vented such that you will be able to see some of these new colors? Mine only has three 1/2" holes back by the clutch area...but...I really want to take my dremel and open it up a bit more...maybe in the spring. Bill PS Everything looks really good.

I actually run it open. I cut the cover... I only bolt on the piece that holds the starter in place. It's held in place with two bolts, and works perfectly. I have thought about removing wheel, shock, entire CVT and painting the case black like the wheel and then the bell and variator would look awesome!

Well, you can't get better cooling than that.

OK, so I ran outta time and didn't get to redo the clutch bell. Everything else is done, so here's some shots: I'll hopefully get the bell painted tomorrow after work.

I like the gloss of the black. If you do the back rim it would complete the look. Check out this exaust it would look sweet on your set up. And if you would like anymore advice on what I would like on YOUR bike let me know.

Thanks cincikid, I actually thought about doing the back rim too. The paint I got is semi-gloss and I dig it. I have an exhaust (; just use it on occasion, I love tearing up the beaches. Notice the actual weld on the header connection part, way stronger than most. The back end is riveted and I'm thinking about cutting it down and re riveting it back together.
