The radio this morning was full of reports of the storm. One of them had a number of people that "decided to ride out the storm" and later are now calling for rescue.
My opinion is: They do not have the right to force me from my property, that is my decision. BUT, should I decide to stay...that's IT! No one's life should be risked to rescue me because I changed my mind later on. I think they ended up sending rescue personnel in after these people. I don't think they should have done that.
But, that is just me. I like pushing the edge...that is why I ride a 4T in traffic.

That's one reason I live next to the the great smoky mnt's east tn. pretty tame compare to rest of country and weather is great year round. People come to see my area but I live in it got to love it and tax' are really low even better more money to ride with LOL. East Tennessee is one of my favorite places on Earth. Besides the natural beauty, the people simply seem 'sunny'. So much so that even when the weather is gloomy the place still feels cheerful. And you do have nice winters. But I could never come there to live because I just couldn't take those summers. When I retire I might leave the place that I set down roots and raised a family, Illinois. But if I do, then I'm heading North. Lake Superior, for instance, calls to me.

In Iowa, we just get thunderstorms and tornadoes, like a Cat 5 Hurricane that lasts 15 minutes...

Over here on the Tampa Gulf side we just got grey skies today and wind gusts- no rain. I was still out cleaning pools all day. Of course at one of the commercial pools- Microtel- they always throw all the plastic pool furniture into the pool in preparation for any big storms. It was packed there today with refugees from the East Coast and of course all the furniture was in the pool. lol. Ah, so that's where all those small planes leaving KFXE were headed.... There was a steady stream of small to corporate size planes headed that direction for about 24 hours ahead of Matthew.

I rode out the storm. Survived. I have water and food to last me a few days. If shit ain't getting back to normal by then I may head inland, I have no reason to believe it won't.
Savannah is tucked in enough it takes a special storm to severely fuck us.
Right now I still have water but no power. Obviously cell towers are still working, I do everything internet from my phone. Our local scooter group is still blasting tomorrow like we do every Sunday. Fuck Poseidon and his watery bitches. We're C-Port. Ain't got time for that nonsense. Trash Pandas For Life Mother Fuckers!

We have had over 24+ hours of rain with a little wind here since yesterday. Not complaining, we really need the rain. Hope all south of me that were not as fortunate a speedy return to normalcy.

It gonna take a while for recovery here. Lots and lots of trees blew over and uprooted. Power is off for many, but we still have it at the moment.
