My Samsung Galaxy slipped off my scooter seat about a year ago and hit the ground on the corner. Shattered. But I kept using it all this time because it still worked and I didn't wanna buy another phone yet.
So last week I ordered a replacement glass off ebay and thought I'd give it a try.
The kit containing some tools (which I really didnt use) and the new glass was about $4.00 (yep, less than 5 bucks)
The glass was SUPERB! It even said "Samsung" on it just like the original.
I had never done this before and I read about how easily the digitizer could shatter and how easy it is to ruin the screen if too much heat was applied so I had my doubts. I figured if I botched it, it would just force me to go ahead and get a new phone.
Well, I'm proud to say I was able to successfully replace the glass and it works! Woot! The darn thing looks brand new and no more cracks. I'm thrilled.
Have you replaced your cellphone glass?
Don't fear doing it. If I can do it you can.

I have an older, cheaper phone that uses wood instead of glass, ha ha. Not bad really except you can get splinters from the touchscreen.
