I have an impact wrench from HF and it served me well for a few months but then out of nowhere it stopped working. It's getting power because the little light is illuminated but when I squeeze the trigger nothing happens. Is there a way to repair it? Has anyone else had this failure? Yes, I know....it's only 24 bucks and I should quit being such a cheapskate and HF tools are garbage and the earth is flat and everything but I don't feel like buying another. Anybody have any luck fixing these? It's the 12v hook up to your battery el cheepo jobby.

Take it all apart and have a look. More than likely there's a broken wire in there somewhere that'll need to be repaired/soldered. If the brushes on the motor have crumbled (just another possibility) then it's pretty much junk. With a little time poking around in there, there's a good chance it's just something simple. Good luck!

Could also be an internal fuse popped.

Tear it apart. If the switch is bad just epoxy in your own switch.

I'm really turning against h.f. except for a few wrenches. Rotary tool lasted a day, cordless drill set about 3 charges before the battery shorted and you could smell it.BUT...they took it back with no receipt or hassle
