Yeah, the morning news has been nothing but this. I forget what channel, but one of them showed a really crappy reenactment animation. It was just animated soldiers bouncing as their weapons discharged and bin laden and a human shield dropping, all on a short loop. Not sure what good they thought that did. I'm quite sure they didn't all stand straight up, head to head, and just fire at each other in a completely open space. I don't think we really needed an animation to imagine that scenario. Might as well just post these two smileys and say it's a re-enactment of the event. :snipe: News people are crazy.

Right... If he is even dead? I dont see what this really solves in the long haul. I mean, cool laden is dead (maybe). But this isnt solving the big problem at all and people are acting like its over. Lol, there is a line of crazy,s just like him ready to do the same shit he did. Everybody gonna act all shocked when the next sick SOB blows us up? We are a hated nation, think we would be used to that shit by now?

I had kinda the same thoughts. Also, since he's supposed to be dead the anti-American folks will just have more reason to say we should get out of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq,....
If this gives the families and friends affected by the loss of those in 9/11 some closure, it's a good thing for that reason.

I think the closure is a good thing.
Now what are we going to do to Pakistan for letting him hide there? No way he could be there without help of their leadership. Time to start going after the crazies that fund and instigate these things.

It changes nothing. There will still be atrocious security lines to get on a plane. There will still be money wasted going after the other boogie men around Bin Laden. The Bush administration exaggerated the depth and ability of Saddam Hussein and Al Qaida in order to justify moving into the middle east militarily under the guise of "Preemption" to head off another attack on US soil but it's clear that the US govt. is playing a real life game of Risk. Maneuvering our military into the oil rich regions and building huge bases there. We are never going to leave Iraq or Afghanistan completely. They talk of "Stabilization" in the middle east but if you look at what's happening in Syria, Egypt, Lybia and elsewhere then it's clear that "stability" is a long way off. I just read yesterday that Al Qaida used a child suicide bomber to start it's annual "Afghan Spring Offensive"
So Bin Laden is dead. I guess it sells newspapers. Yawn....
