Do you sell? I am about to begin. I do buy too.
Do you buy parts? I have purchased about 10-15 kits. They are all seemingly the same. Only difference was name size, and price.

I just purchase if I can't find something at the sellers advertised here. I like to support 49ccscoot through the vendors that support this site.
I have had mostly acceptable luck with ebay over the years. I prefer to buy through Amazon prime though.

I pay for Prime video and music(which are separate the bastards). I don't buy any other item from Amazon.
I'd rather contribute money, if so disposed, directly to a fund.
I'm not unwilling to kick funds to a site I feel as if I belonged to. I am trying to participate. I have PTSD. I've been shot to crud... 45mm kicks. One in the face.

I've used eBay for 15 years, starting when I found my Mustang on there. Very little the first few years. I mostly buy, but do sell as well. I've got 900+ 100% positive feedback, and probably 75 of that is selling.
I don't sell as a business; just cleaning out stuff that I can make a few bucks on here and there. I did part my Mustang out on eBay and even sold the rolling chassis on eBay. Mostly a good experience, aside from a no-pay/no-show buyer of the car that left it in the garage an extra 2 weeks (required wait time for payment plus relisting). I set no reserves most of the time, so sometimes you get what you'd like or more and sometimes you don't. Prob the biggest downside is the amount of money they take from your sales. I could have tried craigslist, but I'll pay eBay their money and not deal with all of the BSers that my local craigslist seems to bring.
I've always created thorough listings for eBay sales, so no one is surprised with what they get or don't. Include plenty of pics. State how things will be shipped and how payment is expected in the listing. I even post pics of the packed item in some cases. I also don't delay on shipping. I try to get the item out very quickly after it has been paid for. Being upfront and clear and quickly shipping well-packed items has never got me a bad feedback rating.
Buying has been a positive experience for me. I've had a couple of real jerk sellers. One freaked out on me over a small issue that was their fault and starting cursing everything about me and related to me. I think she had mental issues, because there was seriously no need for the way she acted. I had a couple of others try to give me the runaround when I needed to return/exchange things not as described, but I've had others go out of their way to make sure I was happy after an issue. Even when I had trouble, eBay's resolution center got it straight for me. I'd say 99% of my transactions with sellers have gone as expected. I think anywhere with a public marketplace will have the occasional problem seller, or sellers having a "bad day". The same goes for buyers.

Some tips from a novice seller/ buyer: The buyer's experience starts with the listing. Take care in the listing (including picks). Simple html, something that looks good and clean. People like the top rated seller badge so go for that. Just starting out it will take about an hour to post a good listing so don't sell something where the profit isn't worth your hr. Get your pos feedback up or most people will scroll past your listing no matter how nice it is. Learn how to make an attractive and inclusive title. Most seller tools are BS and aren't worth your time. Spend $20 on 40, .50 cent necklaces from china and now you have 40 pos feedback. Sell as lot or yard sale. Postal scale, ok camera, The lighting makes a world of difference:(research), ok back drop: I use white poster board from walmart a lot. Learn your shipping rates. Order common sizes of priority boxes USPS. (Free) Know how to use the sold listings. Most i'm forgetting , you must do your (Research).

Generally I have found eBay quite good for buying. I have sold a few bike parts on eBay. They do take quite a big cut with all the fees. It is quite easy to do though.

Back in the early 2Ks I sold exactly 4 items for planted aquariums on eBay, did good enough to be attacked by several other companies who didn't like my low margin high volume business model, but it ended on a positive note so...
