I actually bought this on a whim, I needed some 6 gram rollers, this had 6.5, so I went ahead and got the whole assembly. It's pretty much as I thought, a rather generic variator I've seen under a few different rubber stamp brands and vendors at a variety of prices from Glixal's apparent low of $20 to a high of $70 where the painted back plate becomes a "coated" (with paint) back plate. The machining is fairly unrefined, it's a bronze bushing, and the drive face is exactly 1mm bigger than the stock variator at 89mm. As far as design, the ramp angle doesn't seem much different than the stock, although there is a smooth transition from the rollers resting area up onto the ramp, whereas on the stock variator the resting area is flat with a sharp transition onto the ramp (see photo). The machining on the posts where the guides ride are rough and sharp and the guides themselves don't seem to have the most precision fit into the back plate, another noted issue is the boss fits looser on the crankshaft than the stock one does with 3000 plus miles on it. That's as far as I can go in review until the silly variator tool gets here, hopefully there will be some days good enough for some test runs once installed.

It looks just like the DLH one. The only difference is DLH or Glixal silk screening.

I saw one vendor simply wiped off the stamp on the back plate, but it's identical, even the guides. Wonder if they buy em off Amazon for $20 and simple triple the price ")
1000RPM clutch sprimgs... what does DLH know that Glixal doesn't.
In all seriousness though, I'm not sure about putting it on a 100cc bore kit, thinking I'll steal the rollers and tuck it on a shelf, might be good enough for a stock 50cc.

That looks exactly like my 2 Koso variators. Carbon copies. Try holding a magnet to your "Bronze" bushing and I believe you will find it to be colored steel...both of mine were. I put in a real oilite bronze bushing into one of them following Brent's instructions. Bill

Looks and sounds just like my one scrappy and my old dlh. Worked ok for stock 50 but 2nd day in my 72cc build it sheared the post off where the guides ride
