I used to play chess with friends or family on occasion or with Chessmaster on PC, but it's been years. I've never been very good at it. I've never even visited chess.com.

you should check it out. not going to lie, I'm fishing for people to make friends there and challenge to games. it is a cool sit with live games, lessons and puzzles. I have yet to break down and get a premium paid membership, i don't need unlimited lessons. the computer analysis looks cool though

I play.
My dad was rather sick when I was little, heart disease and diabetes. His illness stopped him from doing things with me that most guys did with their sons. So, instead of baseball, he taught me to play chess. We would play every weekend for hours. I got pretty good, but have since slnearly stopped playing. I have an old chess game here that I will play from time to time. I can still beat several levels, but not the entire game. I do enjoy it though, just a little hard to find worthy opponents.
I have taught all of my kids to play, but they don't really enjoy it, so ....

I used to play before my brain injury years ago. I used to love beating the computer in those days to at least a standoff. I used to spend hours nightly playing "battlechess". Now its just a sad reminder of how things used to be. But hey cartoons and television are more satisfying now...

I'm too stupid for chess but I like Backgammon. Battle chess on Amiga was awesome though played for hours even if I lost all the time just wanted to watch those animated fights.

Amiga 500 or 2000 were one of the early desktop like machines that could play games. Running the Workbench 3.1 OS Probably the most popular games were Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Days of the tentacle, Wings of fury, Battle chess, Apidya, Project X. Many, very good point and click games. Here a video of Battle chess. youtu.be/MMjSweUlXAU
