I noticed that too. His posts still exist, but it seems if you click on his user name or search it, nothing happens. Hope its just a glitch. EDIT, After some searching, seems some of his posts are missing.

There was a minor argument between Bill and another member. Nothing major at all, but it sounded negative and off-topic in the thread. I'm not a fan of arguments. Debates are fine by me, but if it seems like it is personal or someone is mad, I don't like it. I deleted 2 of his posts and 2 of the other person's posts. I didn't see the need for everyone to have to see the negativity. I thought that was better than having to say something and then replies about that, all of which would just end up in a page worth of replies with little to do with the rest of the thread. Bill made a comment that someone didn't like. That person replied in a negative manner. There were 2 posts below those about it, which were just a few words. Even though it didn't look like Bill was trying to be argumentative, it looks real strange if you just delete part of a conversation and leave half of it.
I got back on later and Bill's account had been deleted, so I suppose he was not a fan of having posts deleted.
I could have left it there and it wouldn't have been a big deal, but I made a call to get rid of it. I don't have any intentions of trying to censor people, but I tend to get rid of negative comments or warn people about them. I was sorry to see Bill go, but I'm doing the best I can to make this a place that we can enjoy hanging out and I never imagined that anyone would quit a forum over it. If anyone else ever finds posts missing, please talk to me if you're considering leaving. I've never deleted any posts with negative intentions and I value our members so I'm certainly not trying to anger anyone.

My comment of the missing post came from this post. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/17422/ebay-tuning-tachBill had made a post and I explained the wasted spark cycle(in a quote) and if you notice another member agreed about the wasted spark, but prior to that there is no mention of it.(where I quoted Bills post) Brent, I have no issue with what you did, I agree with what you did, there is no need for the nonsense. There is enough BS going on in the world around us, I come here to escape it. LOL

Well this is two long time members that have left the forum recently. I think it is a shame that people cannot have a discussion over something they enjoy doing without getting upset and attacking one another. It is perfectly normal to disagree but it doesn't need to become rude and personal.

Someone left not long ago but not over this particular thread. He was "onefastqmb" or something similar.

It really wasn't anything bad, just looked like an argument was beginning. I deleted the posts minutes after the last comment was made. Just wanted to make sure you didn't think there was a war or anyone got exceedingly rude or personal. My thought was to stop something before it happened rather than wait and see, since there was already negativity. It's one of those things that one day I may have let it go and the next day I may have deleted it.
Either way, I can't see why anyone that seemed so friendly would hit the road over it. I've moderated forums long enough to know that you can't see everything coming and people react way differently though. I had a member go berserk years ago because I resized an image for them. Rather than ask them to do it, I thought I was being nice and taking care of it so they didn't have to bother. They went off about me messing with their stuff and started posting porn and nasty images and cursing me out all over the forum. Then they went to other forums and posted all sorts of insults about me and prob a few yo momma jokes. Then they made more accounts to continue, before finally giving up. Never would have guessed that would have happened when I thought I was doing something to help.

Brent,
You do a great job with this forum. It has to be a difficult job and you seem to have the perfect temperament to handle it. Thank you for all you do.

Another person that I like, but if he disagrees with anything I do he leaves. Sometimes you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. It's not easy to make everyone happy with every decision in a community with 1000+ people online daily. At least in 10 years or so of being a mod or admin on multiple forums, I've never managed it and never seen anyone else do it either.

Civility is something that we all need to practice more of. The anonymity if the internet makes it to easy to say things we would never say in person. Brent you do a wonderful job of moderating the site. You are always helpful to everyone no matter what their need may be. We should all take a breath before we post things that might be misconstrued by others. Just my 2 cents.
