So you found that perfect led to use for your custom tail light project only problem is it only has 2 wires ( B+ and ground) so of course it won't work for a brake light... WRONG. Here is how I turned a single trailer light into a brake light. I used: 2" LED trailer light (dot approved of course) 1 - 150 ohm resister 2 - diodes Wire and connectors as needed I'm using this on my little RD so I needed brake lights. I went through my pile of resistors to find the intensity I preferred which in my case was 150 ohm. Note on diodes, they only allow current flow in one direction, towards the load. The diodes are so the voltage doesn't flow back defeating the point of the resistor. The line with the resistor would be for the tail light (low brightness) and the one without the resistor would be for the brake light (brighter) I set this up and let it run for a few hours with no increase in temperature. Just be sure to tape or heat shrink your connections. Soldering would be preferred.
