just curious if anyone has had any luck. swapping a 150cc engine into a typical 139qmb frame. I want a quick upgrade option and considered this an easy way out.

It's not easy. It requires cutting modding the frame/engine mounts. The easy way would be to sell the 50 and buy a 150.

Yeah, it actually is easier and cheaper in many cases just to get a different scoot. If you really just want a 50 with a 150 you need to be a good fabricator or look into something like this... www.monstergy6.com/product_MGY6_mounts.htm

I'm *thinking* the old Aero/DIO/ 125/150 Elite motors would be a reasonably easy "swap".
The motors will all need spaced rearwards (possibly with a drilled plate on each side), centered within the chassis (spacers, washers?), and some kind of turnbuckle (frame to the top of the OEM Honda mount). Of course, being liquid cooled, the 125/150 Elite will need a rad mounted somewhere, with plumbing. The rearward spacing will maintain your wheelbase, and in the case(s) of the two cycle motors, give room for exhaust routing.
The 250 Elite motor will fit similarly, but will require a bit more work.
Of course you will loose your under seat storage because these are all vertical motors.
