so this is the elite i have minus the motor and rear wheel. my plans are if i can do it myself for a low cost is to swap in my elite 80 motor into the frame i have sitting in my shed. i need to know if this has been done before o i can try and figure out the motor mount situation.

Good to see you posting again. Wish I had an answer for you. I've never even seen an elite up close that I recall. Scooter scene sucks here. Have you stuck the motor up next to the frame at least or stuck the 50 by the 80 and examined both to get an idea of what you might be in for?

Firstly: I do not own, or have not owned either...... BUT: If you look at your SA50 motor mount: www.cmsnl.com/honda-sa50p-50-s-1999-usa_model950/partslist/F++22.htmlIt is an "innie", meaning the mount on the engine side fits between two ears on the motor The CH80 mount is an "outtie", meaning the motor sits between two mounting ears. www.cmsnl.com/honda-ch80-elite-80-1985-usa_model924/partslist/F++22.htmlWhat you are going to have to do is graft (weld) two mounting ears to your SA50 mount, after "cleaning off" the SA50 "innie" engine portion of the mount (leaving just the front pivot). You have the stuff in front of you, measure it up (with a tape measure) and see if the front portion is wide enough to do this.
