Problem solved, right? For future reference, when you unplug the auto-choke it stays ON! When it's connected, it heats up in about 30 seconds and turns off

I'll do that probably the same time I replace the Valve Cover gasket (leaking oil after adjusting valves). Lovely scooter but hey it runs good at least All you have to do is remove the valve cover, wipe the mating surfaces with a clean rag, then use rubbing alcohol on the mating surfaces to remove any oil left on there and then smear a thin layer of RTV silicone on the valve cover and install it. Then let it sit over night before you run it and voila! No more oil leak.

Yeah I have yet to turn on the electric choke again but I think it'll be fine if I do just been lazy. Yeah the valve cover I cleaned it up put a new gasket in (old one for some reason fried itself in half) and tightened it up and now that works like a charm. Scooter goes 40mph in warmer weather. Def runs well now.

You maybe a bit rich with the constant choke but, I would reconnect it. JMO. Just plug it in no need for body removal just reach up and connect, should take 10seconds. I am Lazy but come on man Still got that backfire?

Yeah I know its running rich you can def smell it when it starts lol. Yeah the back fire is still there but that should go away once I reconnect the choke...I think.

Only time it back fires is when I let off a full throttle or let off really fast. Other than that it doesn't back fire at all. Its usually a pop or 2 or something that sounds like a puff of a air a few times. Doesn't sound serious but I will look into it. On the carb behind the bracket that holds the throttle cable on there there's a circular cover with two screws. That's the ACV valve. (Air Cutoff Valve). There's a little diaphragm and spring in there. It's job is to close off the air passage to the idle jet when you let off the the throttle so you don't get that popping on deceleration. Maybe you have some thing in the ACV valve like metal from the machining process that's preventing the ACV from working properly? Maybe the little diaphragm isn't seated properly so there's an air leak? It couldn't hurt to try removing the little diaphragm in there and spraying out the passages. It might cure the backfiring.

I may have to look into that. The whole electric choke is a bad idea for my scooter. It starts fine but after a short 3 or 4min warm up when it is 80 degrees out tonight when I'd go full throttle after starting out slow it wouldn't go. Pretty much die but once let off itd be fine. Its weird. Seems like a short or something. So unhooked it again and runs fine.
