Hmmmm.....a high tech, futuristic two stroke. With a sealed and lubricated crankcase, to boot. It actually seems kinda odd. But I like it.

I've been waiting for this... 2t can't just go away. I've been wondering if the fuel and oil is where the devil is- I wonder if there's a clean way to mix fuel and lubrication? Like maybe propane as fuel and castor or vegetable oil as lubricant?

But you know.......unless I'm missing something.........I don't think this engine needs any lubricating oil in the combustion chamber at all. Just like a four cycle engine. Not that two strokes up till now needed lubricating oil in the combustion chamber. They just got it whether they liked it or not.
If that's the case, then hasn't KTM managed to get rid of the reason that two strokes are 'dirty'?

Maybe Honda/Yammy and outhers will get into the game with there scooter line. Come on Honda Ruckes--Old 4T,no storage, front Drum breaks, priced higher then all the rest.Atleast you did good on the 150 scoot. I'll step down, before i get booted off stage lol.

Where would the oil ring pick up oil?

The article is rather sketchy. Awaiting more details, especially concerning lubrication. Seems to me the con rod may need a passage up to the wrist pin and the ring lands of the lower ring would need through holes to lube it and leave a little on the cylinder walls for the top ring to pick up on the downstroke.

Who knows, with our current president wanting to "roll back" current car emission standards who knows if it will trickle down to 2 stroke scooters. Wishful thinking.....

It does sound good. Not just reduced emissions, but more significantly better fuel economy. The best of both worlds?
