Jalopnik had a really good post about an article on the Federalist where some guy who is "smarter than your average bear" when it comes to cars, tried to claim that catalytic converters are a bad idea. To support this, he clearly demonstrates that he has no idea how a cat works, claims that engines work by having pistons push oil into the crankshaft, and that a V8 is the only respectable American sized motor because somehow more pistons means more ability to pull. jalopnik.com/here-s-some-hilarious-bullshit-about-catalytic-converte-1793347662

Oh my Lord that was just utterly stupid. That guy needs to buy a bike and get off the road before he hurts/kills someone.

Had an idiot on Facebook swear up and down that catyletic converters produce cyanide and that the EPA should be eliminated because they are trying to kill us by making them mandatory. I'm like, wow idiot, cyanide is a by product of fossil fuels burning, what do you suppose happens if you did get rid of them? Ugh.... people!!!!

I bet he previously worked for CNN. Except that he's writing for the Federalist, a very conservative site.

I don't care who he works for... I just want him to write an article about scooters next. Comedy gold. The only thing better would be if he did an exposé on auto repair shops, damning them when he finds that they didn't fill each cylinder with oil before reinstalling the spark plugs or because he asked to have his tires rotated and his spy cams show that the shop only switched their positions and never spun them.

Wow, is all I can say to that. I am really surprised my little four cylinder, 1ltr Yaris can even move under it's own weight. But it's a good job I removed the catalytic converter from my bike.

my wife drives an 05 liberty renegade 3.7, when i add oil to the cylinders thru the plug holes how do i check the level? i figure maybe i just stick my finger in the spark plug hole and when i can feel oil its full, like you would a differential. would this be a good time to add moth balls to the gas and nuetralize the cyanide in the exhaust? id also like to complain that when we ordered the jeep we got the renegade edition that has rock sliders and skid plates. well we go screwed or the skidplates are defective becuase we still skid in the ice over the winter!! maybe the guy mentioned above could have warned me and pointed me to a good 12mpg v8 vehical

Where can I find the diff lock on my scooter and could I find a V8 that would fit with little modifications?
