The 2011 Cruisin' Ocean City car show is this weekend. My poor Mustang is still down, but that's O.K.... I've got another hot rod to cruise with. lol I left my house sometime a little after 5:30AM and got to OC at 7:30AM. I rolled around town for about 5 hours before heading out on the 2hr ride back home. The GPS says I had 8hr26min of moving time. That's with only stopping long enough to get gas and hop right back on. Let me just say, my scooter seat needs more padding for that amount of seat time in one day. lol I left every red light hard, trying my damnedest to get anyone and everyone to race me. The CVT held up well. It wouldn't wheelie hard because of the slip it gets after so much riding, but it was still managing to lift the front wheel maybe an inch on most launches. I could have put together a 30 min vid just of me leaving red lights trying to race hot rods. The only thing that sucks is that I went to this giant car show (3,500 cars registered and way more than that that show up just to cruise) and never got a pic for scooter tag. I wanted to, but my social anxiety kicks in around that many people and I couldn't make myself do it.

Almost forgot, I learned something about the Venus too. I needed gas in a one horse town and the only station had only 87 octane at the time. I put 1 gallon in with I guess .3 - .4 gallons of 92 and had no trouble in the final 35 miles of the trip. I should at least be able to run midgrade if I so desire then. That's rare for my 90cc+ stuff. I sure couldn't do that on even Project 90.

Way cool. Tiny Chiny Scoot takes on American Muscle Icons. WTH were the cops? It's a wonder you didn't egg one of those guys into a ticket  ;D. Wow. Nice trip. Yo. Just think of the money you saved in gas over taking the 'Stang.
I think you're starting to see the value in having a practical 'over-the-road' scoot that's reliable and fast enough to hold it's own in most situations.
The octane situation is educational. Often in rural areas only 87 is available so this is something to consider when putting together a touring scoot.

Very nice!!!
You get your gas at the same station all the time dont you? Wonder what kinda of quality your getting? My Pop used to get the same gas from the same station because it was the closest. Come to find out he was getting crap. His scooter wouldnt start sometimes and it was always the fuel. My uncle ended up figuring it out when my pop told him were he got his gas. Switched stations and never had another problem. My Cobra seems to run very well, even the same or regular 87MON.

The cops were asleep. I went early to avoid a lot of the BS. The whole place turns into a giant traffic jam later on. What I wanna know is where were these guys when I was there? Burning off some rented tires...
I get my gas when I'm home in cans at 2 spots. When I'm out wherever. Never seen any difference running high octane from any place really with the scoots that are on the edge of spark knock all of the time.

Now THAT'S a RIDE!
8 hours of rolling!! The Twisty Riders bow at the master's feet!
For me that would be the perfect way to see a car show. Wouldn't be much into stoping and talking either.
Great vid. Are you just hanging the cam around your neck or is it mounted?

That's with the GoPro mounted above the headlight. Best way I know to get the best view of what's around me other than having the cam on my helmet. I wanted to do the helmet cam, but I felt silly that way. Hardly anyone down there on scoots wears helmets or any gear so I get weird looks as is without a mount assembly and cam on the side of my head. Flip flops or bare feet are considered proper riding attire at the beach to everyone but me I think. It surprised me to see all the helmets in the burnout vid above. Maybe the rental shops are pushing them more now?

I live in westminster Md. Im planning on riding all the way up around the bay and down to ocean city within the next couple weeks if I can get my scoot running right. Ive mapped it out and its gunna be quite a ride, so there will be a hotel waiting for me when I get down there lol. Since your from an area not too far away, do you know any places I could go to look at scoot parts? Ordering from the west coast all the time gets old.

That's gonna be a heck of a trip. Keep us posted on that one. The only place I know fo that carries much is over on your side of the bay... www.scootertronics.comOC has Continental Cycles. They're a reputable place and carry Tomos and Kymco and some parts for those. They carry some decent scooter tires, but the prices were quite a bit higher than what you can get 'em for online last time I looked (couple of years ago). There's also Island Cycles. They never had many parts when I was there, some replacement stuff. Again, that's been a couple of years at least. I stick to ordering stuff online. OC will be an adventure this time of year. Tons of tourists on rentals. Might be fun, they like to race and screw around with rented scoots. I dunno, I haven't braved OC in full on tourist season yet. Just be careful, there are a lot of distractions walking around when it's warm out ;D and a lot of traffic and some folks just whip onto the shoulder without paying much attention.

Change positions a lot. That's about the only trick I know for long rides. My thick insulated pants helped a lot in the winter, but I don't think I'd wanna try those at 90.
I've always wanted to try one of those scooter buggies (forget what they call them now EDIT : ScootCoupe) but never have. Get us a pic of it if you do.
