Well, how did that work? Should be a matter of swapping one set of innards fortnhe other. Or were there internal differences?

Oh lol sorry I lost hope for this car due to my dad not listening and trying to take the car on a long drive after I told him to stay in town it needed a new shift linkage and throttle body it kept going in to limp mode so it left him stranded and he left it on the side of the interstate and it got towed before I got out of work.
I put a brand new alternator in it because the other ones had the same issue of a junk regulator so couldn't build a good one out of the two.
First test drive was not perfect but it needed a little debugging. RIP ford lol

Hmmm, my Dad never listened either. There was never enough time to do it right but somehow there was time to do it over.

I wish some people could be less bull headed he thought it was funny while he said they can keep it but I put a lot of effort in to it only if I had a garage and a lift it would have been done by the 27th like he wanted and now I will never see the money I was supposed to get for fixing it lol

Dad's can suck sometimes. My dad always pissed on my accomplishments too, even tho he couldn't ever do much better himself. I'm trying not to be the same way to my boy.

It's hard for fathers to admit that their children know better and know more than themselves. I sometimes have to ask my 14-18/year old kids for help on the PC or these Dang mobiles. Its... Odd
Sorry to hear about your accomplishments beig towed and impounded. It sounds like your dad may have been used to vehicles that would run fine as long as it will start and go in gear.

There are a lot of new cars coming out with cvt transmissions lately. I'm getting excited about it- tuning them SHOULD be "easy"- even if they don't have easily swappable rollers like ours, I bet the cvt control "unit" may be programmable or swappable. the auto makers have been programming "shift points" to make it feel more like a multi gear car lately. The reason being many drivers unfamiliar with cvts state they don't like the "disconnect" from a non-shifting transmission. It does reduce the fuel mileage slightly from running the engine outside the peak power/economy band. I'd suspect its possible though to reporogram it back to the traditional cvt shift style though...

I've been noticing that the cars that have cvt's don't really feel like cvt's. I work on cars, so I drive a lot of cars in n out of the shop.
