You can delete this thread once it's answered. I have this impact wrench on hold and I was curious if it'd do what I need. Getting the wheel nut off so I can take off the rim/wheel. Getting the clutch, variator, and flywheel rotor nuts off as well. Also please tell me any experience you have with it. www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-8-Amp-1-2-in-Corded-Impact-Wrench/3307992

Yep that will do the trick, but if you're only using it for scooter related stuff you might save some cash and go with the harbor fright one. 1/2 in. Heavy Duty Electric Impact Wrench Now i know it says $49.99 but i'll bet it is not that price in store. i payed $29.00 for mine.

Now get a Torque Stick 30lb and never worry about over torquing a variator or clutch nut again.

I still don't understand what that is! LOL. Is it just an extender, sim to a ratchet extender for 3/8" ratchet??

It LOOKS like an extension, but it actually limits torque applied to fasteners based on its design setting. The one I linked to is a 30ftlb, they also have 40,50, and 60 in that style. I use it along with the Dewalt 20volt impact and hit the trigger 6 times while holding the variator or clutch with my free hand.

Evidently, once the rated torque is met, the thin spring steel rod flexes with the impact from the impact gun. So every time the gun hammers after that torque limit is met, the thing starts to flex instead of spin. Only meant for impact guns.

Honestly, I've used this electric impact from Harbor Freight for YEARS on scooters. www.harborfreight.com/12-volt-1-2-half-inch-emergency-impact-wrench-92349.htmlMostly for CVT nuts, occasional rear wheel nuts. It's perfect for scooter application because lower torque rated than air, or even the above mentioned corded HF impact. Therefore safer so you're not striping splines. Recently bought the corded HF impact for auto application and its well useable on scoot, but overkill imo. EXCEPT for nasty old wheel nuts, could be good for those old nasty nuts LOL
