Hey everyone! Unfortunately the Dutch scooter-scene is being outdated and so are the forums. Real scooter-lovers are getting older and replacing their beloved scooters for their first car. The new youth are only going for the newest Vespa's and Piaggio Zips and I feel they do not feel the need to learn and experience the world inside their scooter. Instead they just take it to the local scooterdealer and tell them to make their scooters just like they want them to be. I guess it's just the 'new-generation' My name is Tim, I'm 20 years old and live in a city near Amsterdam. I bought my first Aprilia Mojito Custom (Piaggio 2T air cooled engine) when I was 16, and tuned all the optical and technical things that were possible. I just love working on it and to save up money for that new exhaust or that new Variator kit. However, that project has come to an end. Now I bought a Piaggio Fly 4T4V 2013. Love the way it looks and drives, just need to get used to the slow start and slow topspeed.. - Derestricted the vario (pulling out the vario-ring) - Derestricted the CDI unit - Changed the vario to a Malossi Multivar (the one I had on my 2stroke piaggio scooter) - Left it with the same rollerweights: 5,2 grams - Changed the jet from 75 to 78mm Read more: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/18981/destricting-piaggio-fly-4t4v#ixzz4iPteJEn1I think I might buy a 80cc cyllinder

Welcome to the worlds best scooter forum. I'm in St Charles, Missouri and I'm now starting to look for a 2t. They are not that common here as they are elsewhere in the world. I really like your enthusiasm. Welcome again.

Welcome Tim. Great looking scooter you have!
You have to know that those members of this forum in the U.S.A. know that the Europeans have access to the BEST scooters and parts. Very few 2t's are sold in the U.S. (the American EPA wants to outlaw 2t's).
One 2t available in the States is Genuine Scooter Roughouse 50.

Welcome to forum. My wife has an Aprilia Habana, very much like your Aprilia Mojito Custom. The Habana had the same body but retro style handle bars. It's fitted with the 4T Vespa 125 engine, not the two stroke like yours was. She loves it

Welcome, here in the U.K. the new euro4 compliance law for scooter and motorbikes are killing off two stroke in this country. Luckily some still have passed though the Tomos and Jawa 350.

Welcome aboard from a Nederlander-in-spirit.
I'm half Dutch/half Irish. Relatively pure blooded for a Yankee. But I identify much more with the Dutch side than with the Irish side. I look like a Dutch/German/Dane. And I act more like the stereotypical Hollander than I act like a Celt. I married into an even-more-recently arrived Welsh family. And I certainly don't act like those maniacs, let me tell you.
My grandfather was born in Holland. Grandmother was a Boer from South Africa. My understanding is that he had been a deck hand on some freighter until they made harbor in New York. This would have been about 1920. I suppose he'd have been at least worldly enough to have known that New York was impressive. But I guess he was really impressed. Enough that he went on in and didn't look back.
A number of nations will give citizenship to grandchildren of citizens with practically no questions asked. For that reason I've always had the notion that I could claim Dutch citizenship if I'd wanted to. Add to it that fact that I'm a life-long bicyclist and always wished that my neighbors and co-workers would join me, places like Amsterdam have always seemed pretty tempting.
But when I was a twenty-something I simply didn't have the guts to move half-way around the world. And since then I've raised a family here and I'm not eager to leave them. And I doubt they'd be eager to join me. So I doubt if I'll be making a move like that.
But the Netherlands have always kinda called me.
But I'm also rambling.....nice bike you got there. It has real style.

Hallo Tim, good to see more dutch ppl here. It's true, the dutch scooter scene completely died out...the dutch forums are sh#t and theres hardly any 2t's in the streets anymore.
Where you from btw? I have a bunch of friends living in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Ijmuiden with whom i'm organising scooter roadtrips from time to time.
