My intake manifold has two vacuum lines. One that connects to a tee, one leading to the the fuel pump/petcock and another to the carb. But theres another vacuum line coming out of the other side that's plugged up. Except this plugged up hose was filled with some type of liquid (gas probably) and a gooey white substance. I uncapped it and emptied it out, but do I have a leak somewhere? What is the purpose of this second vacuum line? Anyone have any insight?

Maybe I was wrong. There is a 2nd vacuum line connected to the intake manifold but its connected to something else. This is what it looked like before I drained it. I think its part of an EGR system or maybe its part of an oil cannister. Ill have to take it apart again to get a better picture. I'm still learning so sorry if I sound ignorant.

That is oil and water vapor recovered from your crankcase.Pull the plug out when it fills up.

Some scoot intake manifolds have two vacuum ports. If the second port is not needed it is plugged.

I'm still learning so sorry if I sound ignorant. We all learned when we first got scooters. No one here is going to look down on you for not knowing. There are a lot of members that will help you, all you need to do is ask. Go to the Tech Section and read some threads and watch videos on how to work on scooters. A lot of great info there. That's how I learned and I just did a BBK (Big Bore Kit) install as well as tuning the carb and the CVT. All that info is in the Tech Section. Glad You're here and Happy Scootering! Dan50

If you experience emulsification...trace the line back to it's origin, to be sure. Hint: if it is a crankcase vent, it "should" start out on top of the case and end up higher, or with a high loop. The other thing you can look for is a "check valve", or one-way valve that prevents backflow, since it vents up. Many older engines...both scoot and big bike had a tight 360 degree loop, somewhat doing the same thing. (Highest pressure coming from the crankcase) I recently found something similar on my CVT case. A drain that was full of water, because my vent filter was plugged with water and debris after running through flooded streets. My CVT was spinning. When I looked the drain line was covered in goo, so did not notice. Great question!
