hey guys i have a technigas next r on my kymco super 9 and where the muffler ends over the expansion chamber of the pipe there is a oiley substance from the exhaust staining the pipe with a almost rust looking color spots mixed in. anyway to get rid of this? i tried elbow grease and soap and water.

Try a degreaser instead. If a degreaser and scrubbing doesn't work, I use a little brake cleaner. Just be careful with that because brake cleaner can remove color from painted surfaces and is more harsh than your standard cleaning supplies.

Yep, i use carb cleaner also, takes it right off.. Of course to keep the pipe clean, i have to do this every other day

thats a very creative answer 2 stroke i will probably feel that way after a little while but right now cuz its new i want it nice and shinny. i dont want the chrome coating to come off. how about goo gone or goof off. or is that to strong and will take the chrome off?

it will look ugly as it can be seen on our modern scoots but what the vintage guys do to keep the exhast from dirtying thigs up is put just a bit of al tube on and then lead it away from anything
but like 2 stroke i just leave it it shows i ride the piss out of my machine
if its real bad and driping out it means you rich

i have the same chrome exhaust. i use degreaser and a rag.
