Looks like it's had a tough life. These engines are strong though. It's amazing how much abuse they can take.

I got it for $250 Australian dollars so I'm a happy camper . It has had a hard life by the looks of it , but it starts and runs and everything works on it . The previous owner said one of the radiator hoses has a crack in it , but other than that mechanically its OK . Ken

lol those things are non existent here so when you say that beautiful thing is about to become parts, I want to shed a tear or two EDIT: I literally paid 860 dollars for just a motor and wheels with shipping. The motor didn't even have a top end. So yeah, you scored big time.

You can buy a reasonable Aerox here for $1000 - $2000 Australian dollars ( current exchange rate $800 - $1600 US ) That is for a fully functional road going Scooter that will start everytime and get you to where you want to be . I wonder what the transport cost to the USA would be ? Ken

Been there, done that. Tried to have a Jog sent over from England. It made it here to the states but was rejected because I only had the frame and a few other bits sent, but not the lights so the department of transportation rejected it. Long story short, I could have gotten it in but I had to send it back first because they wouldn't let it stay. Needless to say I just couldn't afford it. Couldn't justify it either and it was one of my costliest mistakes.

I've had a few people contact me about shipping Aerox parts to the USA and I'm happy to help if I can , but maybe they had better do some homework to see if its legally possible before money and time gets wasted . Ken . PS - Do I understand what you wrote correctly , the problem you had was you imported parts not a whole bike ?

Its when a vin stamped frame enters the usa, they're looking at it as thats the complete vehicle, not parts to be built. Its all in how it gets declared crossing borders. If the period is in the wrong. Spot of a sentence, it gets denied. Theres a thousand times more the legality behind a chassis/frame than there is on any other bit of a bike - including the engine. The frame is what gets titled here, and if it can't pass united states dot inspection, it can be rejected to enter the usa.

The frame vin is a can of worms for sure. Someone I know brought a Suzuki GS750 Frame from the U.S. Couple of years ago for a project. Built it up with a bandit 1200 engine. GSXR forks and swing arm. Had it inspected, not a problem. But when he came to register it, even though he had the U.S. Title it was a no go. Seems Suzuki used to send bikes out world wide with blank vin plates. Then get them stamped by the importers. Yep you guessed it, the vin was already registered to a frame here.

I just didn't do enough research (not that there is a lot of info out here) and didn't realize that lighting was one of the things the US DOT needed to inspect. They told me that it would more than likely pass and that I could have it, but they couldn't write off on it until they could physically see them. Then it was that they don't store things and wait for the lights to be shipped and that I needed to either ship it back or have it destroyed. Was going to ship it back but decided that I'd already spent way too much money on a stupid scooter and so I ended up telling them to do whatever they wanted with it. The whole thing turned into a sad mess.

I really wanted another Aerox spaz12 they seem to want crazy money for something that is a wreck. There is no point paying £350-400 for something that is going to cost you way more than that to do up. you Might As Well Go And Buy A Half Decent One For £800-900. I guess the thing is here they are only really ridden buy 16 year olds. who have no clue about maintenance, and no mechanical ability.
