I might have to buy a new starter gear? The eBay guys has some for about 16 dollars. I'm worried I'll buy that then have the same problem. Any advice ?

I saw on the tgb forum jwhood where you asked oilyhans for springs. Did you get them from him? His prices are crazy. Anyway the malossi spring I got is to narrow to fit the plastic bushing behind the clutch. And I can't seem to find any contra springs made specifically for tgbs.

I looked in the service manual, it had the stock clutch bell at 110.something mm. What size clutch do I need to work with that?

I used top racing springs from racing planet there for a piaggio there small compared to minarelli springs,as for torque springs I used naraku also got them from racing planet in a 2 pack a 1000-1500 Rpm torque spring,as for the clutch still working on that I'm looking for an aftermarket one now

Well j, I found a 22 spline clutch bell on eBay. I been in contact with the guy selling, the parts are coming from taiwan. He's also selling a hp clutch. I might look into those once I get this running.
I almost got it all back together, I had to make a few modifications for the new carb but got it looking right. Realized yesterday I got br9es instead of br9hs, so I gotta go get the right ones today and hopefully I can start it up. Wish me luck guys.

Got my bike almost all back together. The throttle cable i ordered from scooter dynasty, the sheath was to long so I tried to Dremel some of the sheathing off. I do not think it will hold up though so I ordered a qj throttle cable on eBay, it was the only one that had the right hook up to the throttle housing. Hopefully it will work.

Hey guys, been awhile. Anyways got my scoot mostly back together. Got the keihin jog carb on it. I tried a 95 mj first and worked my way down to an 85 but I still can't get it to run consistently. The revs fluxuates even when I'm holding the throttle wide open and it won't start until I give it some gas. I'm not even sure where to start??

Ok, time to build my leak down tester. I noticed tonight that gas is coming out of the bottom of the carb, also there is some gas, not a lot but some. I'm starting to think I'm having a float/fuel delivery issue.

Shoot I meant to say there is some gas in the hose between air box and carb. Not a lot but some, I'm thinking I might have to get a new carb.

Your petcock might be bad mine was bad just added a fuel shut of valve so when I turn the scoot off I turn the gas off or float is not level in carb

Ok guys I got it!! I was just not getting it enough air.i drilled 3 3/8 holes in my stock air box and viola. It's running real good I've been checking my spark plugs lots, running with 90mj needle in the middle. I might try a 95 just to err on the cautious side.
One thing I noticed with this malossi variator is the sleeve that slides on the crank shaft is different from the stock one. The stock one has a lip that allows it to be pushed all the way back to hold the starter gear in place. The malossi sleeve does not hold the starter gear in place, I found out by it slipping off. Once I reinstalled the stock cvt and the stock torque spring it is running great!
I'm gonna be tuning this week in the evenings until I go get it tagged.thank you again everyone who chimed in with there know how. Hopefully soon I'll find a minarelli to build up. I'll post some pics soon. Jw I was thinking of painting mine matte black with a nice dark mettallic orange stripe, did you paint yours yourself?
