Hey all! As usual, I would love to work on the Yamaha 50 but that project is on halt, yet I still love to share my stuff here, so I want to introduce the "non-vespa" community to some more vintage stuff. As the drum brakes are always really shitty on the older bikes, my buddy decided to get a disc brake front end on his rally and make the bike a safer and more fun ride. While we wait for parts, the engine needs a full rebuild as a bearing gave up. So today I dropped the engine. More detail about the bike will come in a video soon. Obligatory Shop Dog pictures Parts are arriving this week, i will keep this thread updated.

Is he using a kit or doing it from parts? I have an ET2/4 front end that is probably going to wind up on my '70 Super 150.

What's the handlebar plan? Remote master cylinder or late model bars?
I'm tempted to go bare bars if I can figure out a way to do the shifter without having to track down vintage bits. Treats has a few and I've also got an aluminum throttle I've spent lots of time staring at and thinking how to modify it.

An aftermarket bolt-on mount with a master cylinder.

That Rally is purrty.
I really need a disk on the front of my P... It's way too fast for the stock binders. :/

It's interesting to see how the clutch goes together. It's quite a bit different to a standard motorcycle clutch.

So over the course of this weekend I built a 225 Pinasco engine for a friend and I got his old stuff. This included a modern CDI ignition system and crankshaft. So both are going into the Rally engine.

And then some more: CDI conversion done: Front end assembled: First attempts at centering the fender: Still a while to go until it is properly set. Very subtle brake setup underneath the handlebar, utilizing a Piaggio Typhoon brake pump
