has anyone ever used a race kart airbox like these? AIRBOXor have a recomendation for one? i cant use my stock one it wont mount in factory location and if i hang it anywhere else it just looks funky. I bought one of those kart airboxes years ago. I never used it because it was huge. I ended up modding the stock airbox. I can't remember the dimensions, but try to find a seller that lists it's measurements before you decide on a kart box. Thanks for the heads up. I've got an idea that I'm brainstorming. Need to get my shock in place before I can move forward with it though and get measurements . It will defiantly be a DIY lol |

Tomorrow should be the day that she starts. What would you guys recommend for starting point in jetting with a polini CP 21mm? It was previously ran with a dell 21 and 86main. But not sure what it would equal with a different carb. Still need to rig up an air box I may try to modify the stock on for temporary use till I can find some flexible 1.75" blower tube. Is there any problems if I were to route the intake to an air box mounted under the seat in the bucket? I gain a lot of possibilities if I could do that. Praying for smooth sailing tomorrow!!

This is where I got the blower hose idea but unfortunately I have a bigger air box and a rear facing carb so room is limited |

Little update to the thread. Got it running. Now begins the tuning!! Yay lol. Got the air box fitted thanks to ace hardware. Grabbed 2 new BR8HS plugs and will begin tuning and plug reading tomorrow after work. I will say this this motor has some balls! And the peace pipe sounds great! 2tdave and 190mech jobs well done!! Pics to come and maybe a video if I can figure out where to upload it. Need to get an extended rear brake cable. I haven't found one for a 50cc only gy6 versions. Are they compatable? After I get the tuning and the brakes tidied up it's off to the DMV to get it registered. |

YouTube is the easiest spot for vid uploads IMO.
I think the cable for the GY6 would work, but I don't have a GY6 anymore to check. Parts for scooters has quite a few brake cables I believe.

Found out the gy6 will work. Going to measure the stock one after I get home tomorrow and figure out what I will need. Got the motor running damn near perfect. A little slow on the pick up but easing into it I bury my speedometer needle past 40 ( that's what the gauge stops at) I have a nice golden brown plug. I am beyond happy with it as it sits. I decided to toss the plastics back on to be less conspicuous to the cops when I get it on the road haha. After a paint job of course. Going to take a bit because of the humidity that's in the air. Pics of everything when it's all back together possibly tomorrow. And of course a manditory gps reading lol
