I'm interested in getting my first scooter. I've got a file mile commute and my Jeep of 14 years just died. I'm looking for something fun and inexpensive that gets me to work and back.
There are a couple for sale in my area that fall within the $1k price range that are either 125/150s. Would either of these be a good first scooter? Is something like Yamaha or Honda preferred because of the name? Is it easier to get parts for something like the Yamaha in comparison to Flyscooters?
Flyscooters Il Bello (Znen) - 2008 - 150 cc - 4,348 miles = $850 Yamaha Vino -2006 - 125cc - 16,888 miles- $950
Thanks!

I would get the vino. You won't be unhappy with it. A similar bike (motor-wise) is the yamaha Zuma 125, similar motor but more "rugged" styling.

Welcome.
For sure the Yamahars and Hondars are definitely more reliable.
Just take $800 to the Vino seller. I'm sure they will accept as soon as they see the cash. heh. Oh, being that you check it's all good to go withoot any issues.

(welcome2)on a 2006 17k seems reasonable but with scoots it,s more about how well they have been looked after,. that's hard to tell sometimes.Check that the frame and engine numbers match the paperwork before you buy,if your scoot needs work all the info and help is available within this forum.I,m a Yamaha fan but limited to 49cc,go get the Vino.

Thanks, there's also 2007 Vino 125 w/ 22k asking $1,100. From the pics it seems to be in better condition even witht he higher mileage. Maybe I'll bring one of my motorcycle-owning buddies along to check the body out.

Thanks, y'all! How many miles is too many on a scooter like these? hahahahaha! Sorry, that was funny. I've seen a honda spree with a odomoeter that had ROLLED OVER in mileage( like over 99,999), and I've bought a Yamaha Zuma w less than 800 miles w a burnt up cylinder. Chassis mileage doesn't matter too much IMO cuz you can rebuild almost anything on em, especiallybif it's a major branded scooter with lots of parts availability.

Welcome to the forum. If it's going to be your daily ride I would go for one of the more premium brands.

I'm sure you know that in most states anything over 49cc is a motorcycle and needs to be licensed as one. Besides that the Vino's will treat you well. I have a 150cc Znen and there is no comparison to the Vino.
