Hey guys, I have a 49cc (upgraded to 80cc) TaoTao ATM50-A1 and got rear ended pretty hard (they hit me at 90 and I was going 35) and it still runs fine surprisingly but the panels are shattered of course. I only need it to work for about a month so I can buy a 150cc off my landlord. here's my question, cause I can't find the answer anywhere. is it illegal in florida to drive a scooter or whatever without panels? im gonna spend 30 bucks to get a new taillight assembly so I have all my lights and signals but the body panels will be most gone, is that illegal, do I need the body panels, or will I get a ticket or something? I only need to drive it 5 miles a day to work.

Call a local or state police office.

I am pretty sure you will be fine. If a Honda Ruckus can ride on the roads in Florida, your scooter with a few missing panels should be fine. You do need to have rear brake and turn signals.

Thanks, I guess i'll take the broken panels off and wire up the lights on the back. Ordered a new tail light assembly for 25 bucks. Just wasn't sure if it was against the law. but I guess your right, the ruckus and mad dog icebear doesn't have any panels. so I guess I should be fine after all. thanks!
