Hello everyone. I bought my first scooter (on-line) a few weeks ago. I got a 2017 Jiangsu Baodiao, model BD50QT-9A. I read a whole lot of threads here, and several other forums, while waiting for delivery. Got it delivered, assembled it, and got the required stuff to be legal here. So far I have only got to ride roughly 4 kilometers, but I like it. I used to ride motorcycles, but quit in 2007 (was married and had a baby and needed a car). I look forward to learning more than I already have and maybe teaching others one day.

Thanks guys! I went riding earlier, about 24 miles. I don't know how accurate the speedometer is, but I got up to 50 mph indicated on level ground. I'm going riding again in an hour or so, and I'm going to use the speedometer function in an app I have on my phone (Smart Tool Box) to check it. If this scooter came unrestricted that will be awesome!

I don't know how accurate the speedometer is, but I got up to 50 mph indicated on level ground. Usually 1 of 3 things is happening when someone says their stock 49cc 4T is going 50MPH on flat ground : - The reading is actually kilometers per hour. - The speedometer is horribly inaccurate. - They got really lucky and had a big bore stock (and possibly still the speedometer is inaccurate). I guess we'll find out for sure soon. I'm crossing my fingers for ya that you ended up with one of those factory big bored engines, but that's not usually how it ends up.

Well, I couldn't get it to an indicated 50 MPH. Strong headwind, and it is too hot out there right now. I got home and I am soaked with sweat. I'm just glad it finally quit raining the other day. Maybe tomorrow I can try again. I did manage to get to an indicated 40 MPH, phone app said 35 MPH. I'm going to get my mom to drive beside me in her car and see what her speedometer says.
On my scooter, the speedometer has kilometers per hour on the outside ring, and MPH on the inside ring. I made sure I was looking at MPH. The odometer is in kilometers also, according to the owners manual that came with it.
