OK, so i have one of the new VIP future champions, and Ive read that they have a 44mm piston instead of the 39mm found on most other scoots. so what I'm guessing this means is i have a shorter stroke. so what I'm wondering is if i get a bbk will i need to get a rod to go with it ?

More than likely a 60cc engine. Just order the bore size you want (keeping in mind that some cases will not accept the 80cc kit without boring).

Measure the stroke. Should be 41.4mm.

thanks for the specs. ill check the stroke sometime later, I'm gonna have to adjust my valves in about 150mi so maby ill check it out then. I'm like 90% positive its only 49cc though. all the emissions tags say 49cc, the valve cover is stamped with 49cc.

all the emissions tags say 49cc, the valve cover is stamped with 49cc. You, sir, sound just like a truck driver. In these days of full electronic diesel engines, a mechanic sets the horsepower electronically with his plug-in hand held...... it matters not what it says on the tag. You will never know what exactly is "in there" unless you get "in there" and find out.

Lots of scoots come labeled as 49cc and 139QMB that have 44mm bore. The 39 in the 139QMB designates bore diameter, so that alone should tell you all you need to know about trusting Chinese specs and paperwork.
