for about a month now the CVT side of the crankshaft has been leaking oil into the CVT case. I know that it needs new oil seals, but i was wondering, how hard of a job is it to change them? and whats the best way to go about it? Is it also worth replacing the bearings too?

The oil seal can be replaced by removing the cvt cover and variator, replacing bearings would involve splitting the case.

THanks for the video 90, after watching it, it does seem really easy. Ill go about doing that when the new seals arrive. Thanks

If there is a groove, scratch, or pit/dent in the crank surface position the new seal so that the lip does not ride on that part of the crank surface.

Do you know if its possible to change the seal with the oil still in the bike? I would, so it can catch any pieces of the old seal during removal. Then an oil change after the job will freshen everything up.

Okay, what would be the best way to go about it? Without a special tool.

Abrasive particles from cleaning the case will play hob with the bearings so spray the seal pocket and bearing well. -Then change the oil.

Okay, what would be the best way to go about it? Without a special tool. Self-tapping screws. One at 3o'clock and one at 9o'clock. Screw them in so they get a good bite, then pry the screws with a claw or back side of a hammer. Should pop right out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQwulUnPxew
